Danielle Wyatt bids farewell to India with a special Instagram Post
Wyatt is now widely recognized among Indian fans as she is remembered for ‘proposing’ Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Twitter back in 2014.
With the England Women’s Cricket team’s Tour to India coming to an end, opener Danielle Wyatt has thanked Indian fans. Earlier, England was in India to play a T20 tri-series involving Australia followed by three-match ODI series. The visitors lost to Australia in the tri-series final and then suffered a 2-1 loss to India in the fifty-overs.
However, Wyatt personally had a memorable time in the subcontinent where she scored 304 runs throughout her stay. It also included a brilliant 64-ball 124 against India in the 3rd T20i in the tri-series at Brabourne stadium. It made the Englishwoman only the second woman cricketer to have scored a T20 century.
Recently admitted to being a fan of the Royal Challengers Bangalore
Wyatt is now widely recognized among Indian fans as she is remembered for ‘proposing’ Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Twitter back in 2014. She has often tweeted about him and his performances but the fun tweet was taken rather seriously. She recently also admitted to being a supporter of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and people attributed it to the Kohli connection. Interestingly, he also gifted her a bat which she used in the recently concluded tour.
Earlier, she admitted that the tweet was reminded of her a lot but it did contribute to meeting him. “I actually met Virat a couple of times after that and he was like: “you’re the girl who sent that tweet… you can’t do that because people take it seriously”. He was a really nice, humble man,” Wyatt said.
The opener took to social media to thank India after the completion of the series. She also admitted she would be taking a lot of positives from this tour. “India it’s been a pleasure. Always enjoy my time here. What an incredible country. Plenty of positives to take away with us and lots learned. Bring on the ?? summer,” Wyatt said.
