She is more popular on social media for what she says and who she supports than just her cricket. Thus Danielle Wyatt ensures she is updated about everything important that’s happening on the cricket field around the world. While the high action Test series is being played at home between England and India she missed out on watching it live. After the hosts won the Tests, the Sussex cricketer caught up on the highlights and is excited for the remainder of the series.
Wyatt, known to be a big Virat Kohli fan enjoyed how things turned out in the first Test and thinks it has set the series up beautifully. At the same time, she is pleased that England now have a 1-0 lead having won the Test by 31 runs. At Edgbaston, Joe Root won the toss and his team posted 287 batting first. India were nowhere in the hunt for that kind of a total before skipper Kohli got to his own.
“Just got around to watching test match highlights. Absolute scenes at Edgbaston.. again! Going to be a great series #1-0,” Wyatt tweeted.

Turn of events on the field
The Indian skipper played a knock of assurance and authority. All those who doubted his ability to perform in English conditions have nothing to say now as he scored his 22nd Test hundred and the first in England. Kohli didn’t stop there and got out only after scoring 149 runs which ensured his team had a 13-run first innings deficit.
England in return once again slumped at the top but a lower-order resilience led by Sam Curran brought them right back in the game. Chasing 194 in the fourth innings was never going to be easy. Though Kohli tried once again with his 51 but it was not enough as no other batsman showed enough character to last the test.
The conditions and the pitch in Birmingham supported the pacers and though England’s lead pacers James Anderson and Stuart Broad didn’t have a mind-blowing game Curran and Ben Stokes more than made up for it.
20-year-old Curran produced an all-round show with both bat and ball to be named Man of the Match and ensured it was his team that went one up in the series.
