The Indians were absolutely clinical on the day.

It seems England woman cricketer Danielle Wyatt is not just a fan of Indian captain Virat Kohli but also a keen follower of India’s performance on the field. She was among several Indian fans who erupted with joy after the Men in Blue destroyed arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup in Dubai. Wyatt was just overwhelmed by the way Rohit Sharma’s men toyed with the Men in Green in a crucial clash of the tournament.
India did well to restrict Pakistan to 237 for 7 in 50 overs after the latter looked set to achieve a higher total, thanks to some excellent death-over bowling. But the total looked far from competitive as the Indian openers Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan cruised at will and made it a complete mismatch. They lost just one wicket in the form of Dhawan (114) who got run out while Rohit remained unbeaten on 111 to finish off the game in less than 40 overs. Ambati Rayudu remained not out on 12 along with his captain.
Former Indian spinner Rahul Sharma tweeted after the game hailing Rohit’s century and said it was a treat to watch him bat. He praised India for their second consecutive victory over Pakistan in the tournament calling it a “top performance”.
What a thrashing that was!

To his tweet, Wyatt, the 27-year-old batter replied: “What a thrashing that was!”
India’s heaviest victory over Pak in terms of wickets
This was India’s heaviest victory over Pakistan in terms of wickets. It was just in the previous game in the group that they had registered their biggest victory over the arch-rivals in terms of balls remaining (126). These have been some of India’s most hard-hitting victories over Pakistan, especially after the big loss that the former suffered in the final of the Champions Trophy last year.
India have four points from two games now in the Super Four following comprehensive victories over Bangladesh and Pakistan. They will play Afghanistan in their final Super Four game against Afghanistan on September 25. Pakistan, on the other hand, will have to beat Bangladesh in their final match on the next day.
