England women to play ODIs against New Zealand from September 16.

The England women’s side is all set to play a five-match ODI series against New Zealand from September 16 and ahead of the series, they have been dealt with great news. Hard-hitting opener Danni Wyatt has returned to the English side for ODIs. It was only sometime back that she failed to make her place in the ODIs played against India. She will also be joined by pacer Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill, both who were not on the English T20I side.

English selectors have already announced their ODI squad for New Zealand and 20-year-old offspinner Charlie Dean has received her maiden call-up in the same. ODI call-up. Talking about the squad selection, head coach Keightley added that they are looking forward to Royal London series as they will be exciting five ODIs for them. She also added they are going to have a very busy schedule which will also set their pathway for the Women’s World Cup next year.

“We’re really looking forward to the Royal London series. It’s a great test for us and five more important ODIs ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup next year. It’s a very busy schedule and we will really need to work hard throughout it to ensure players are in the best position to get through it, and it may well be that we need to manage the group in order to do that,” said English head coach Lisa Keightley as quoted by Cricbuzz.

England have won the T20I series 2-1 ahead of their ODIs

Talking about the New Zealand series, England have won the T20I series 2-1 and will begin their ODI campaign against them on September 16. The ODI matches will be held in Bristol, Worcester, Leicester, derby, and Canterbury. Though Kiwis have already lost the T20I series, it remains to be seen if they can make a mark against the hosts in the ODIs.
