Apart from Lehmann, the players like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft also were recipients of some serious backlash from the audience and the cricketing fraternity. Subsequently, Smith has been handed a ban of one Test along with a fine of 100 percent of his match fees. He stepped down from the captain’s role for the last couple of the days in the third Test.
Subsequently, he also gave the leadership role for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Tim Paine has been announced the captain and it will be interesting to see the team’s approach in the all-important final Test at the Bull Ring.
