However, after an hour, he divulged the fact he doesn’t make any comeback and the previous message was a mere April Fool’s joke. Sammy last represented the Windies back in 2016 when he captained the team to their victorious campaign in the ICC World T20 in India. Here’s what he mentioned after the prank

” I can’t keep this going…Sorry guys t was an April Fools Prank. Not going back in the maroon.”

Previously, Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, shocked everyone when a message surrounding his comeback to the Kings XI Punjab squad broke out. It was mentioned that due to marriage purposes Aaron Finch, the Australian opener, won’t feature in the game and hence Viru will take the field during Punjab’s opening game against the Delhi Daredevils.

However, later he later unveiled that there’s no reality behind the revelation and he won’t be breaking his retirement. It wouldn’t be surprising if many had already been fooled by the prank following Sehwag’s blistering form in the Ice Cricket Championship in Switzerland.
