David Warner applauds his wife Candice’s bravery during tough times

The ball-tampering saga took the cricketing world by storm. Fans across the world were disappointed to witness the Australian players being involved in acts that were against the spirit of the game. Cameron Bancroft, Steve Smith and David Warner were the three players involved in the scandal and they paid a heavy price for their acts. The players were handed lengthy bans from international cricket as it affected the reputation of the national team.

Life-changing event

David Warner is one of the most gifted players in the modern day cricket. He has been at the helm of Australian cricket for quite a while and was a key player in the national setup. To see Warner go through such a situation is very disheartening. It is also tough times for his family as his wife had to answer several questions regarding the involvement of Warner in the sandpaper gate.

Candice, Warner’s wife had also revealed that she suffered a miscarriage shortly after the backlash from that incident. Warner has spoken out in support of his wife and applauded her bravery.

Warner took to Instagram and said, “My wife my rock has endured pain, disappointment, regrets in her past and so many highs and lows but the courage Candice has shown in recent months is a testament to the qualities she has as a mother, person, friend and wife. I’m grateful every day I get to call her my wife and my soulmate, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

When you’re living the dream you must enjoy every moment of it regardless of the highs and lows. We as a family have been through one of the toughest times ever the last few months but nothing will ever stop us from being just us. I have three of the best girls in the world that I cherish and love every single waking day. I am truly blessed with this!! Candice has also requested for the privacy of the family to be respected in the aftermath of the South African tour. The incident in South Africa has taken a heavy toll on the family and David Warner certainly regrets it. It remains to be seen if Warner will play in the yellow jersey again. The Australian Cricket Board had made it clear that Warner will not be considered for any senior post in the national team again.
