David Warner clears air over rumours of Kane Williamson leaving SRH franchise

In the recent development of events, rumours have been doing rounds on social media that New Zealand star batsman Kane Williamson is looking forward to leaving the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. It was reported that Williamson would join the next team before the commencement of the next edition of the Indian Premier League. In the same line, SRH skipper David Warner has responded to a fan’s post on Twitter and has cleared all the rumours.

An SRH fan tagged David Warner on Twitter and asked him the news related to Williamson is true or not. SRH skipper added that ‘Kane will not be going anywhere.’ Warner and Williamson have been the very base of the SRH franchise and pushed the franchise to finish on the third spot this year.

The Twitter posted- “@davidwarner31sir we are hearing that Kane Williamson is going to another team by inside trading we need a clarity about it will we have @NotNossy Kane Back into @SunRisers Love from INDIA.”

The skipper added- “First, I have heard of this. Kane will not be going anywhere.”

SRH finished third on the table in IPL 2020 after losing to Delhi Capitals in Qualifier two. Williamson scored 317 runs in 12 matches and played with an impressive average of 45 and strike rate of 133. He was not up with SRH in their initial matches due to injury concerns but returned to only bring stability to his side. He has recently taken some time off the field to be his wife to witness the birth of his first baby. He would be back with the Kiwis during the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan.

Talking about David Warner, he got ruled out of the India Australia series in the limited-overs series due to a severe groin injury. In the latest developments, he is even ruled out of the Boxing Day Test against India in Melbourne on December 26. He would be hoping to return to the action after getting fit before the third Test commencing in Sydney on January 3.
