David Warner, who was at his best in the first T20I against Sri Lanka, surprised a young fan with his heartwarming gesture at the Adelaide Oval. It was David Warner’s birthday on 27th October, but he was the one who gave a pleasant gift to a kid who was standing in the spectators stands ahead of the series opener.
The Aussie opener registered his first T20I century and emerged Man of the Match for his astonishing knock. Australia would have taken a sigh of relief as their opener returned to his best after a horrific display with the bat in Ashes. He scored 100* in 56 balls in the first T20I vs SL.
A heartwarming gesture from David Warner
The instance took place after the conclusion of the pre-warm up session ahead of the 1st T20I at the Adelaide Oval when David Warner was returning to the pavilion. The left-handed Aussie opener casually dropped his batting gloves in a snack-tub that was held by a young kid in the stands. It left the young boy in awe, he was filled with joy, after the sweet gesture from the Australian cricketer.
Meanwhile, the instance was caught by an on-field cameraman. He recorded this moment in his camera and also asked the kid about who gave him the gloves. In reply to it, the boy said “David Warner” and looked quite happy.
Later on, Cricket Australia (CA) shared the video on their Twitter handle with a sweet caption for David Warner, “These young fellas won’t ever forget their trip to the cricket today. All class from @davidwarner31 #AUSvSL”.
