David Warner has become a sort of a big name in the Indian circles in the past few years. With his performances at the international level and in the Indian Premier League, he has found many fans in India. But his lockdown ventures seems to have reached out to the Indian fans more.
Once the lockdown started across the globe, David Warner found himself on TikTok. He made several videos on the social media app and uploaded them on even Instagram and Twitter. This made everyone see the lighter side of the otherwise Australian cricketer.
On a cricket show, his colleague Steve Smith was asked about Warner’s new venture and the cricketer couldn’t stop laughing. He also hinted that he might join TikTok soon.
“He [David Warner] is pretty busy at the moment, isn’t he. Doing plenty of dancing and moving around. He has obviously created a fair bit of excitement over in India. He has been trending there. And who knows, you may see me on TikTok soon,” Smith said while appearing on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected.’
Warner will definitely get a role in Tollywood movies: VVS Laxman
On the same show, there was the presence of VVS Laxman. The former Indian batsman has a good relationship with the Aussie opener as he is the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the franchise with which Warner has been contracted since 2014. Laxman said that Warner would surely get a chance in the Tollywood movie industry (Telugu-language film industry).
“One thing is very clear that the fans of Sunrisers, the Orange Army, is very very delighted. I am not sure of him [David Warner] getting picked for the Indian team but I think he will definitely get a role in one of the Tollywood movies. There is no doubt about that,” Laxman said.
Warner has been trying his hand on making some videos which depict famous scenes and dialogues from Telugu movies. He has danced to a Mahesh Babu song and also tried to recreate a scene from the movie Bahubaali. Smith revealed that he has never seen Warner dancing around even in the dressing room.
“I have never really seen him [David Warner] bust too many moves in the dressing room. He has saved it up for the living room at the moment. He is in a good space, just enjoying his time at home as much as he can. During the lockdown, people have been doing different things and he has been improving his dance moves and trying to entertain that way, that’s all good,” Smith added.
