David Warner hits out at CA again, says Baggy means the world to him

Veteran Australian opener David Warner has lashed out at the cricket administrators of the country yet again. In a social media post, he hit out at the Cricket Australia and their approach towards the ongoing pay scuffle. The Australian cricketers and the CA have been at loggerheads for quite some time now. The bone of contention in the heart of the matter is the revenue model.

The players wanted to continue with the previous revenue model which had been traditionally working out in the Australia cricket circuit. However, the board was keen on modifying the model after the MoU between the players and the board ended on June 30. The new model would see the players’ share get slashed big time. Needless to say, the players opted to oppose the scheme.

Now, with the MoU getting over almost a month ago, the Australian players are currently unemployed. The board had threatened the players to either sign the new deal or face unemployment. The players chose the latter. Despite attempts of mediations from both ends, there seems to be no solution being arrived at.

Amidst this situation, David Warner has quashed any doubts over his dedication for the Baggy green. In a social media update, he noted that the Baggy green means the world to him. He added that the players are desperate to play again but the board does not seem to care a hoot.

“This Baggy means the world to me. Myself and all the other cricketers female and male want to get out there and play. We offered $30m of our money to grassroots as a peace plan. It was ignored. We asked for mediation twice before and it was rejected. Now CA says there is a crisis. The players are unemployed and some are hurting financially but continue to train. Administrators all still being paid. How is it our fault no deal is done. #fairshare,” wrote David Warner.
