David Warner immensely impressed with Virat Kohli's fitness
Kohli, unfortunately, couldn't travel to England to fulfil his County commitments.
The Indian captain Virat Kohli recently cleared the yo-yo fitness test ahead of the upcoming England tour. All eyes were on him as he was recovering from the neck injury he sustained during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season. But when it comes to fitness, Kohli is extremely strict and he cleared the test with the flying colours and is set to lead Team India in the United Kingdom. However, David Warner is stunned after watching his recent post on social media and is in awe of Kohli’s impeccable fitness.
The 29-year-old has made the fitness a very crucial aspect ever since he has been appointed at the helm and leads from the front. Currently, the ones who fail the yo-yo test, are directly dropped from the squad and the likes of Mohammed Shami, Sanju Samson and Ambati Rayudu have faced the wrath of the same.
Kohli’s fitness regime
Virat Kohli, unfortunately, couldn’t travel to England to fulfill his County commitments to prepare for the stern tour. But he is leaving no stone unturned as far as his fitness is concerned. On Tuesday, he posted the pictures of him training hard in the Gym ahead of the tour and captioned it with a motivational message.
“Today’s session included a lot of band work for lower body strengthening; including lateral band walk, monster walk and then striding a distance of 80 meters x 12 repetitions at speed of 16km/hr on treadmill. 15-second break between each stride and completing 2 sets of 12. Great way to begin the day,” Kohli gave a detailed information about his regime to his fans.
David Warner though was in awe of the Indian skipper and loved the way he has toned his legs. He liked his biceps also and cheekily went on to say that he can hit the ball out of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. “Lega look toned mate. What about those biceps, you can hit them out of Chinnaswamy now @virat.kohli,” Warner’s reply read.
The flamboyant left-hander is currently gearing up for the upcoming Global T20 Canada where he will play for Winnipeg Hawks under the leadership of Dwayne Bravo.
