Australia may have gained an unassailable lead and regained the Ashes 3 nil. However, they have refused to let go off the banter. If all the exchange in the last month wasn’t enough, David Warner took a dig at Graeme Swann regarding his commentary stint at the ongoing Big Bash League.
The dashing opener who scored a century in the recently concluded MCG Test had a go at Swann. In a sarcastic tone, Warner mentioned that he was glad to see Swann still commentating in the BBL, as he expected him to leave after being 3 down. This was in relation to Graeme Swann’s retirement midway into the Ashes in 2013.
David Warner keeps the Twitter war going
Here what David Warner had to say on Twitter, “Great to see @Swannyg66 commentating out here. Thought after being 3-0 down he may have left tour early again. #bbl @tensporttv waste of $$$$ from 10”

And of course, how could you stop Piers Morgan from enjoying it. After all, he and Graeme Swann haven’t been the best of friends.

Nevertheless, David Warner has been in tremendous form. With 385 runs, he’s the second highest run scorer in the series behind Steve Smith. The Aussie vice-captain is firing cylinders at the Englishmen whether it’s been inside the field or outside. While many deemed the dig as unnecessary, there were an equal number of people who approved it as a banter.
With the boxing day Test match at the MCG being drawn, England may have well avoided a possible whitewash. However, with one test remaining, they’ll be glad to create an impact with a victory. While the visitors have had their moments in the series, more often than not, they’ve thrown it away. With the fifth test scheduled to take place at the SCG, England would aim to finish things with a win.
