Following the tradition of the great Australian banter, opener David Warner and Dean Jones engage in a hilarious conversation on Twitter, much to the joy of their followers. Even captain Steve Smith was involved in the duel.

It all started with Dean Jones’ kit bag being misplaced and finding its way into the Australian opener’s room. The southpaw did not find any tag for the purpose of identification. The hard-hitting batsman thought of it as an opportunity to troll the former Australian great. Warner, being the prankster he is, attached a tag onto Jones’ kit bag which read ‘World’s best batsman’.

David Warner did not delay any further and posted the picture of Jones’ kit bag and tweeted “@ProfDeano has no tag on this but says the best batsman ever ??,” leaving one and all into splits.

To which, Dean Jones counter-attacked Warner by claiming that the bag should be placed at the number 1 Test batsman in the world, Steve Smith‘s room. “So how come it was sent to your room instead of @stevesmith49 ? They got that wrong! ?,” replied the renowned commentator.

Here’s the thread

Warner would be disappointed as his attempted prank failed and in return, the old dog added more salt to the already dug up wounds of the left-hander who is currently struggling to come forward with a contribution of some kind with the bat.

Australian cricketers are well-renowned for their good spirited banter on and off the field and it is good to see two of the greats of the game from different eras connect with each other with mockery. This also infers that these incidences are just part of the glorious Australian cricketing culture.

Australians are also in a requirement for some humor to lighten up the atmosphere in their dressing after the string of recent defeats. The Aussie would now look forward to salvaging some pride out of the ODI series by winning the matches at Bangalore and Nagpur.
