Dean Jones and his travel companion Waqar Younis off to Lahore for PSL 3 draft

The Pakistan Super League draft is set to take place on 12th November, Sunday. Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones, who is the coach of the PSL side Islamabad United took to Twitter to share his excitement on being available of the D-day. Jones was also named the interim coach of the Afghanistan team for the Intercontinental Cup in Hong Kong.

The PCB had earlier announced that many big names have shown interest in joining the much-anticipated edition of the PSL and therefore their names will be put up in the draft for the third edition of the league, which will be held in Karachi, Lahore and UAE.

Top stars ready to set the stage on fire

“Top international stars including Chris Lynn, JP Duminy, Mitchell Johnson, Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir, Angelo Mathews, Luke Ronchi, Colin Ingram, Wayne Parnell, and John Hastings have put their name forward for the PSL player draft,” said a PCB release.

Jones tweeted “Here we go again… EtihadAirways I am off to #Lahore for the next @thePSLt20 #PSL3draft with @waqyounis99 to hopefully pick a winning combination again for the cup”.

Former Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq is the skipper of the side. The United side had the services of some big names in the league so far- West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, Samuel Badree, Rumaan Raees, Mohammed Shami and Shadab Khan are some of the names. Legendary former pacer Waqar Younis is also part of the management.

Each of the franchise will go into the player draft of 2017 with a team of nine players. The draft will include one round in the Platinum, Diamond and Gold categories respectively. And it will be followed by two rounds each in the Silver and Emerging categories. The sides will have the liberty to pick up to four players each in the Supplementary category.
