Dean Jones picks his favourite league between IPL and PSL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the marquee event in the cricketing calendar. Majority of the cricketing boards make sure that they don’t play any international cricket when the T20 extravaganza is played every year. After the IPL’s inception, every other cricket board began its own T20 league and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not an exception either.

They launched the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the fifth edition of which was postponed ahead of the knockouts only last week due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Nevertheless, it was a grandiose affair with the entire tournament played in the tournament in Pakistan for the first time in five years.

With the rivalry going strong between India and Pakistan on the political front, no wonder that IPL and PSL is compared to each other more often. And almost every cricketer, during his Q&A session on social media, faces this question. The former Australia cricketer Dean Jones too had to face the inevitable on Wednesday.

In a bid to spend time during the quarantine period amid the Coronavirus, the 59-year-old decided to interact the fans and he was presented with one of the toughest questions.

Dean Jones tackles the question smartly

Dean Jones who is the Karachi Kings coach in the PSL, in his response, clearly stated that the IPL is hands down the best league among the two. However, the former Australian cricketer-turned-commentatoe didn’t forget to credit the PSL for bringing some of the best bowlers into the limelight. “IPL is the best…. but PSL has the best bowling,” his reply read.

While the quality of cricket displayed in the IPL is certainly the best with almost all the top cricketers participating in it, the PSL has also delivered some breathtaking action, especially this season. Moreover, the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Rumman Raees and a few others are the finds of the PSL itself and these players are now representing Pakistan at the highest level.

Interestingly, during the same Q&A session, Dean Jones picked the Big Bash League (BBL) over all the other T20 leagues terming it to be in the different hemisphere than the likes of IPL, PSL and other leagues.
