Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones took a slight dig at team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri after India clinched the fifth and final ODI match against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Under captain Virat Kohli, India won the Test series 3-0, handing a whitewash to the Sri Lankan team. Th ODI series was no different.
The Sri Lankan team looked out of sorts during the entire course of the series. Apart from the 2nd ODI, where Akila Dhananjaya produced a brilliant performance, the hosts failed miserably in the rest of the games. Everyone starting from opener Shikhar Dhawan to Kedar Jhadav grabbed the opportunities with both hands, while bowlers were successful in wrapped the hosts without much difficulty.
Dhoni takes India for a spin
After Kohli scored the winning runs in the final game, the entire team was taken on a ride by former skipper MS Dhoni on a vehicle that was gifted to bowler Jasprit Bumrah, for winning the man of the series award. Dhoni was behind the steering, while team India were enjoying the ride around the stadium. Commentators Jones recalled the World Champion of cricket in Australia, where Ravi Shastri was adjudged the Champion of the Champions. The flamboyant all-rounder was prolific on that tour.

The Indian head coach hasn’t replied anything back to the Australian, and it will be interesting to see if Shastri has a fitting reply in store for Jones, who has played 52 Test matches and 164 ODIs for Australia. Jones has scored more than 9000 runs in international cricket and is currently very active with his commentary assignments.
