Some cricketing brains are as good with social media as the game, thanks to their sense of wit and former Australia cricketer Dean Jones is one among them. The former batsman is found actively engaged on Twitter on various topics – serious or light – and this time he caught up with one involving former Windies captain Darren Sammy. And the social media loved it.
It so happened that Sammy, a T20I world title-winning captain, posted a picture on Twitter wearing a chequered suit and looking at his mobile phone. He was standing in front of a store and used the occasion to put a poll on the social media asking what he was doing in the picture. The 35-year-old also gave three options to choose from for the fans: looking at cricket updates, video calling the family or trying to call an Uber.
Jones, 57, was quick to pounce on the opportunity to poke fun at the Caribbean with his answer: “Trying to buy a better suit?”

Sammy in Pakistan for launch of his side Peshawar Zalmi kit & anthem
Sammy is currently in Pakistan where he went to attend the launch of the kit and anthem of franchise Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the fourth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), starting February 14. Sammy is the captain of the Zalmi – the champions of the 2017 edition and runners-up in 2018. Sammy, who is with the Zalmi since the beginning of PSL, was received at the airport by Zalmi owner Javed Afridi who also posted pictures of the former Windies player on Twitter.
Sammy, who has scored over 3,000 runs and taken over 200 wickets in international cricket, is one of the few international cricketers who have been praised for playing in Pakistan, a country which has been otherwise avoided by most Test-playing nations ever since the Sri Lankan national side faced a terror attack there in 2009.
Sammy led the Windies to win the World T20 twice, the only captain after Clive Lloyd to make the Caribbeans world champions on two occasions.
