The year 2020 is turning things worse in each, and every sector of the world and cricket is no different. In a tragic incident that hit the cricket fraternity on September 24, former Australian cricketer Dean Jones left the world shockingly. The cricket analyst was at his hotel in Mumbai and was gearing up for the Dugout shoot for the match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In a spur of the moment, he collapsed in front of the ace Australian pacer and his dear colleague Bret Lee. The pacer tried to revive Jones as many times as possible, he even tried CPR, but it was of use, and the massive heart attack took away Jones. Messages of condolence have been pouring from all over the world. In the latest turn of events, the late cricketer’s wife, Jane Jones, has released an official statement on the same unfortunate event.
Dean Jones is survived by two daughters and his wife, Jane Jones, who came up to thank everyone who paid tribute to her husband and supported them in the difficult times. She made special mention of Brett Lee, who tried his best to revive Dean.
“My girls and I are devastated and saddened beyond belief to hear of Dean’s death in India. My beautiful husband, the love of my life, has lived his life with every bit of energy at his disposal, and he leaves an enormous gap in our lives, which can never be filled. He leaves us with so many wonderful memories that will last forever.”
We will forever be grateful for your support: Jane Jones
“At this challenging time, when our grief is so raw, we have drawn much consolation from the many messages of goodwill and support from so many people around the world. Given Dean’s special love for the sub-continent, it was especially touching to hear so broadly from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. We are overwhelmed by the scale of the response to the news of his death and we will forever be grateful for that. We want to especially thank and acknowledge Brett Lee’s tireless efforts to keep Dean alive.”
Jane Jones, at this moment, has requested people to provide the family, much needed privacy to overcome these testing situations.
