The second ODI between the West Indies Women and the South Africa Women ended in a pulsating tie. In a low-scoring encounter, South Africa were bowled out for 160, with only Sune Luus showing some fight by scoring a 52-ball 46.

In reply, the West Indies were also bowled out for the exact same total. Opener Deandra Dottin scored a quickfire 37 off 31 balls at the top of the order, while Chedean Nation helped herself to 35.

And, a super over was played to break the tie and decide the winner. And, that is when Dottin went absolutely berserk and went about smashing the bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Deandra Dottin lords over the bowlers in the Super Over

Off the first delivery of the Super Over, Dottin scored a couple. The second delivery was bowled on off stump, and Dottin went cheeky and played the scoop as the ball went past short fine leg for four.

The right-hander smashed the third delivery over the bowler’s head and the ball sped away to the boundary at breakneck speed. Then came a massive six over Long On. The bowler, Shabnam Ismail bowled a slower delivery, but Dottin spotted it early and sent the ball soaring into the stands.

The 5th ball resulted in three runs, and that brought Hayley Matthews on strike. Matthews also had fun off the final delivery of the Super Over. The right-hander bludgeoned a short delivery over mid-wicket for six, as the West Indies collected a whopping 25 runs in the Super Over.

The South African Women could only score 17 runs in the Super Over and fell short of the target. West Indies Women currently lead the 4-match series 1-0. The first ODI between these 2 sides was abandoned. The 3rd and 4th ODI matches of the series will be played on 3rd and 6th February 2022 respectively.
