Dipika Pallikal posts beautiful message for husband Dinesh Karthik on 3rd wedding anniversary

Ace Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal on Monday, August 20, greeted her husband Dinesh Karthik on the occasion of their third marriage anniversary. Dipika, who is currently in Indonesia to participate in the Asian Games, thanked her partner for staying by her side. For Karthik, who is currently in England for the Test series but was dropped for the third Test because of poor form and injury, his wife’s message would certainly be a booster.

Pallikal married Karthik, a senior player with the national team, in August 2015, following their engagement in 2013. It was Karthik’s second marriage after he got separated from his first wife Nikita Vanjara. Pallikal mentioned in her anniversary message that there were people who predicted a slide in her career because of the marriage and backed her decision saying it was the “best” she took.

‘I made the best decision’

“Where are those people who told me marriage might slow down my career ? 3 years ago I made the best decision of my life to marry this boy , he’s not only supported me but also pushed me to become a better version of myself everyday,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

She also said that they were separated by a distance of 7,300 miles (herself in Indonesia while Karthik in England) on the memorable occasion and she was thinking that it was her husband’s support that made it possible for her to reach where she is today.

“Thank you @dk00019 for making me believe in my dreams and for always being there for me while you try and follow your dreams as well. Here’s to infinity and beyond with you,” she mentioned.

Professionally, however, the two had their share of highs and lows. Karthik was recently picked in the Indian Test squad as the preferred wicketkeeper. After two average Tests and an injury he had to sit out for the third Test at Trent Bridge., Pallikal found herself at the receiving end after the Squash Rackets Federation of India slammed her for speaking up over lack of qualified foreign coaches. She will want to gift DK an Asia Games medal as their third anniversary.
