The Indian Premier is about to get underway from 19th September and the players are busy in practising before the mega event. The Indian team has not played any match from last 6 months and cricketers are looking to shred off all the rustiness. Delhi Capitals are practising at Sharjah and Rishabh Pant was seen batting against the spinners.
The wicket-keeper was earlier seen practising when he joined the former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and others in Ghaziabad before departing to UAE. Pant has been looking in great touch in DC’s training sessions and is raring to go ahead of IPL 2020. He was looking in fine touch in Ghaziabad as well and Raina praised the ability of the young wicketkeeper.
The Delhi Capitals’ twitter handle posted a video of Pant hitting towering sixes against the spinners. They wrote, “An Indian southpaw smashing sixes off-spinners at will in Sharjah. Well, where have we heard that before?” and compared the stumper with former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

An important IPL season for Rishabh Pant
The upcoming season is quite significant for the 22-year-old. If the left-hander performs well in IPL, he can make his case stronger for the T20 World Cup 2021. Pant was considered as the successor of Mahendra Singh Dhoni but after his average performance in limited-overs cricket for India, KL Rahul emerged as the leading wicket-keeper for Men in Blue.
KL Rahul has been in terrific form since the day he has don the keeping gloves for Team India. Pant has been sitting in the dugout for quite a while and addition of Sanju Samson in the white ball setup has only added trouble for him to make his comeback in the playing eleven.
Delhi Capitals are set to play their first game on the second day of the event. The Delhi franchise will be taking on Kings XI Punjab in their first encounter. Rishabh Pant has been a vital member of the Capitals and has represented them since 2016.
