Axed West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin has been penalized by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for his tweets regarding his sacking from the Test squad. The WICB on Monday said that the Ramdin’s actions offended their policy and thus they have imposed sanctions on the player.

“Denesh Ramdin had expressed dissatisfaction with his non-selection on the Test squad for the upcoming series against India on social media last week, following dialogue with the Chairman of Selectors,” the WICB said in a statement.

“This was in breach of the WICB policy and the terms of his retained contract. As a consequence, Ramdin has since been sanctioned.” However, the release did not state the nature of the sanction.

Ramdin claimed he that Browne told him, that his batting average was not good enough.
