Hanuma Vihari, Parthiv Patel and Shubman Gill will lead the three teams in the forthcoming Deodhar Trophy 2019. The tournament will take place in Ranchi between October 31 and November 4 in Ranchi. Apart from Gill, Vihari and Parthiv, the 50-over competition features a strong roster comprising of several India players as well as fringe ones.
Vihari will lead India A while Parthiv and Gill will take charge of India B and India C respectively. India A have the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishan Kishan. The team will also have the likes of Vishnu Vinod and Amandeep Khare who recently impressed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. On the other hand, Parthiv will have the company of the likes of Kedar Jadhav, Priyank Panchal, Vijay Shankar and Baba Aparajith in India B.
In India C team, the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel will play under the captaincy of young Gill. The selection panel headed by MSK Prasad announced the squads after naming the teams for the Bangladesh series. Traditionally, Deodhar Trophy has featured the winners of the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well over the years. But from last year, the new format was introduced.

The upcoming competition will be a chance for several players to make a mark and garner the selectors’ attention. All eyes will be on the likes of Gill, Ashwin, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik as well as some fringe players like Kishan, Shankar and others. A good outing in the competition will definitely put the players in a good position as far as selection in the national team is concerned.
