'Devisha Bhabhi make sure your attendance is late' - Ishan Kishan gets sarcastic with Suryakumar Yadav after 3rd T20I

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav was simply excellent with the bat against West Indies during the third T20I encounter played on August 2 (Tuesday). The right-handed batter stroked an outstanding 76 runs off just 44 balls and hit eight fours and four maximums in the process.

Suryakumar antics with the bat ensured that the Men in Blue register an easy victory over the Men in Maroon and gain a lead in the five-match series. Meanwhile, another Indian batter Ishan Kishan who was interviewing Yadav after the match had a unique request from the batter’s wife.

Suryakumar’s wife Devisha comes to watch her husband’s batting most of the time, but in two such instances when she has not come to the ground, Suryakumar played exceedingly well. The first instance occurred during the third T20I match between India and England where the right-handed batter stroked an excellent century and the most recent one was during the third T20I match against West Indies where Suryakumar was adjudged player of the match for his excellent fifty.

When Ishan asked Suryakumar about the same, the batter replied, “See, when a man lies, he stammers. I am not lying. I would say what I said in the dugout, which is that it is not important for a partner to be on the ground. What matters is that they are with you. She is in this country and I have a tattoo of her name as well. So she is close to my heart and being or ground or not, does not matter. Eventually, she is here and that power channels into the ground,” as quoted by HT.

As the interview was coming to an end, Kishan looked at the camera and said, “Devisha Bhabhi, please keep paying our room bills, and in the coming matches, make sure your attendance is late.” Suryakumar and Devisha got married in 2016.
