Dhaka Dynamites rope in explosive Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickwella for BPL

The fifth season of the Bangladesh Premier League is scheduled to kick off soon and Dhaka Dynamites would be elated to see explosive Sri Lankan opener Niroshan Dickwella taking guard first up for their franchise in the BPL. The DD management confirmed that Dickwella will don the blues of Dhaka.

In the eight T20Is he has played so far, he holds an impressive strike rate of 147.97, while in 16 ODIs, he strikes the ball at a strike rate of 92.39. He is best known for giving the fierce-some start to his team along with Upul Tharanga. He recently found an able partner by the name of Danushka Gunathilaka who stunned the Indians in the recently concluded Champions Trophy with his counter-attacking knock of 76 off just 72.

Captained by Bangladeshi’s quintessential all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, Dhaka Dynamites is the most successful franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League as won three titles since its inception in 2012. They won the inaugural edition along with the following season in 2o13. The DD’s also won the latest edition of 2016. Former Bangladesh player, Khaled Mahmud is currently coaching the side.

Dickwella to play alongside Sangakkara, Afridi, and Watson

In the previous edition of the league, the Dhaka franchise brought forward one of the strongest team featuring the likes of  Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Kumar Sangakkara, Mosaddek Hossain, Evin Lewis, Mahela Jayawardene, Wayne Parnell and Ravi Bopara. Adding Niroshan Dickwella to the arsenal, Dhaka Dynamites have only strengthened their stature in the league.

The defending champion of BPL becomes delightful after roping Dickwella in their side. They believe his inclusion will help the Dynamites to enhance their strength with his classy sweeps, scoops, and ramp shots. This is going to be the first appearance for him in BPL. This time around Dhaka have confirmed the availability of Kumar Sangakkara, Shahid Afridi, Shane Watson, Sunil Narine, Mohammad Amir, Evin Lewis, Rovman Powell, and Asela Gunaratne.
