Team India has a tight schedule ahead as they play Sri Lanka tour India and then India tour South Africa in January. The Sri Lankan team has already arrived in India as they will play a two-day practice game against the Indian Board President’s XI before the actual series begins.

India will be a tough test for them as no one has managed to beat Virat Kohli & Co. at home for a year and a half. A lot of cricket has been played but even the best teams have fallen in front of the mighty Indians. That said, Sri Lanka will have to play out of their skins to beat India. They will surely have a lot of problems once the series starts but that does not seem to be the case.

The visitors are already having problems getting their players in India. Two of their players are yet to join the rest of the squad in Kolkata.

Dhanajaya and Roshen Silva yet to arrive

Sri Lanka is gearing up for the series as they are adapting to the conditions in India. However, two players of the fifteen men squad are yet to arrive in the country. Batsmen, Dhananjaya de Silva and Roshen Silva are yet to get on a flight. It is understood that there were some visa problems as these two had to delay their visit.

The conditions in India are quite similar but the players will need some adapting. That said, Dhananjaya and Roshen have lost some precious days. A Sri Lankan official has said that both the players will leave for India tomorrow. “Dhananjaya and Roshen Silva will leave to India tomorrow, as they are late due to Visa issue,” the official told Cricket Age about the same.

Sri Lanka plays Board President’s XI in a two-day practice game starting November 11th. The first of the three Tests will be played from November 16th to 20th. They will play 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is.

Fact

This is Sri Lanka’s first Test series in India since 2009. They haven’t played a Test in India for around 8 years now. The last time Sri Lanka played here, they lost the series 2-0.
