Dhawal Kulkarni ties knot with Shradha Kharpude today

Fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni wrecked havoc with the ball for Mumbai in their successful Ranji campaign this year. After reaching the high point of his career, Kulkarni has now decided to settle down and begin the most important spell of his personal life.

Kulkarni married his girlfriend of four years, Shradha Kharpude at the St Regis hotel in South Mumbai today. Shradha is a fashion co-ordinator with the Femina magazine. The bride herself was totally involved with the wedding preparation, making sure everything is perfect ahead of the big day.

“It is going to be a typical Maharashtrian day-time wedding,” Kharpude said. “All family members and friends are going to be dressed in traditional attire. We are using genda flowers and banana leaves for the wedding decoration.”

Dhawal Kulkarni and Shradha met about four years ago. The soon-to-be couple was introduced to each other by a mutual friend. After exchanging their BB pins with each other, they fell in love over the next few days.

The couple also made sure that the guests are treated with a variety of cuisines apart from the Maharashtrian delicacies.

“We’ll have other cuisines too. We are not sure if everyone will enjoy Maharashtrian food,” she says.

The wedding will be followed by a reception in the evening. The theme for the event will be ‘spring’.

The guests attending the wedding celebrations would obviously include the entire Mumbai Ranji team among others. His Mumbai teammates, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, who are on national duty, also tweeted and wished the fast bowler.
