Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have immense respect for each other as they have played together for a lot of years. Moreover, India won the World Cup after 28 long years in 2011 under the captaincy of Dhoni which also completed the dream of the Master Blaster. Sachin chased the dream of the mega 50-over event since his debut and finally, the team achieved it in his home ground at Wankhede in Mumbai. However, in one of the biggest compliments, Sachin has revealed that Dhoni always reminded him of his father Ramesh Tendulkar.

After leading India famously to the title triumph in the inaugural World T20, Dhoni was named the skipper across the formats soon. He was leading the stalwarts of the Indian cricket who supported him well in tough times during his captaincy stint. The Ranchi boy was a great fan of Sachin and used to watch the game only because of him. However, it was a dream come true for him to lead his idol and win the World Cup for him in 2011. Tendulkar also had termed him as the best captain he has ever played under in his illustrious career.

Dhoni is always calm like him

Sachin Tendulkar served Indian cricket for almost two and a half decades but his father passed away in 1999 during the World Cup. He was not with the Master in his next 15 years of his career but Sachin always had a special affection towards his father. He always used to see towards the sky after every century and dedicate it to him. Rajdeep Sardesai, in his book ‘Democracy XI’, has revealed that Sachin had said once that Dhoni always reminds him of his father due to his calmness.

“From the very first time we met, Mahi has given me complete respect. Maybe he reminds me a bit of my father; be it in success or failure, Mahi is always calm like my father always wanted all of us to be,” Tendulkar had said as quoted in the book. Despite retiring from cricket, Sachin is always attached to the cricket and has been following the team. Dhoni too is at the fag end of his career and relinquished his captaincy earlier this year. Though he is set to play the 2019 World Cup which will be held in England.
