'Did he look for sandpaper?' - Barmy Army after Chris Gayle checked David Warner's pocket
Gayle was pretty animated during the AUS vs WI game.
Chris Gayle hogged the headlines for all different reasons during the game between Australia and West Indies on Saturday. The Universe Boss smashed a couple of sixes scoring 15 runs with the bat and walked away to the dressing room raising his bat to the crowd hinting at a possible international retirement. Later he bowled an over and also picked a wicket of Mitchell Marsh and hilariously jumped on the all-rounder’s back probably thanking him for the dismissal.
He didn’t only stop here and enjoyed his one over bowling while also trying his antics with David Warner. During his fun outing on the day, Gayle’s yet another act caught everyone’s attention. The 42-year-old hilariously checked Warner’s pockets while the latter was batting.
The picture of the same went viral and it didn’t take much time for England’s Fan Army, Barmy Army, to take a dig at the Australian opener ahead of the much-awaited Ashes. They posted the picture on their official Twitter handle and took a cheeky dig at Warner recalling the infamous ball tampering scandal in 2018.
Warner shines with the bat
While Chris Gayle had fun on the field, West Indies couldn’t end their campaign with a win. They lost pretty comfortably to Australia by eight wickets to succumb to the fourth loss in five matches. David Warner was the man who did well with the bat for the Aussies. The southpaw was terrific smashing an unbeaten 89 runs off just 56 balls with nine fours and four sixes.
Mitchell Marsh was also instrumental in orchestrating a big win as he scored 53 runs off 32 balls with five fours and a couple of sixes. Earlier, Josh Hazlewood led the way for Australia with the ball nipping out four wickets during his four-over spell. It was only due to Kieron Pollard who smacked 44 runs off 31 deliveries that West Indies could reach 157 runs in their 20 overs. But the score didn’t prove to be enough as Australia comfortably cantered home.
