Mahendra Singh Dhoni- a man with zero haters. MS Dhoni is not just a name, it’s an emotion in the world of cricket. Over the years, he has achieved unprecedented success and has taken team India to new heights under his leadership. Three ICC trophies winning former Indian captain is currently on a sabbatical from the game but this hasn’t affected his popularity in any way.

The big-hitting batsman from Ranchi made his international debut for India in 2004 under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly. In his glorious career of 16 years, Mahi has been the pillar of Indian batting line-up with over 17,000 runs across all the three formats of the game. He has represented India in 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20 Internationals along with a staggering 829 dismissals behind the stumps.

The 38-year-old has not only won hearts with his impressive batting style but also with the numerous hairstyles he has sported and immortalised over the years. He has been the trend-setter off the field. From long golden-brown locks to salt and pepper crew cuts, Mahi has done it all.

Here are a few of his looks:

In the early years of his cricket career, Mahi became more famous for his long golden hair than his batting capabilities. It was the first time an Indian cricketer was seen sporting such a unique look. He had long locks which were golden-brown in colour.

The Ranchi Starwalt received a lot of appreciation for his look. Former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf was so much in awe of his hairstyle during the Pakistan tour of 2006, that he advised him to not get a haircut.

India’s victory in T20 World Cup 2007 was a landmark in Dhoni’s career as it gave him fame and popularity. After the T20 World Cup, Dhoni was seen as a leader who could lead the team from front and make it win matches both at home and abroad.

During the tournament, Mahi was seen carrying long straightened hair which were jet black in color. This specific look of the former Indian captain was copied massively by the youngsters in the country.
