Dinesh Karthik excited as 'one can be' ahead of Test series

At 33, India‘s wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik is seemingly having a second chance in Test cricket. With Karthik being one of the most crucial parts of the squad, he is certainly excited with the prospect of being one of the members of the team in spite of being a bundle of nerves as well.

Speaking about his previous experience, Karthik added that he simply did hd little or no recollection of what had happened.

“My memory is so bad that I can’t rewind that far back and see, but I do know that that was one of the highlights of my career,” he said. “It was a terrific Test series, one of the few Test series where all three matches, India and England played the same XI through the series. It just goes to show how competitive it was. Both the teams didn’t feel the need to make changes, which shows the quality of cricket that was played.

‘I am excited as one can be’

Speaking about the manner in which the banter was beginning to unfold, it was quite clear that he was happy, excited and a bag of nerves. In addition to this, Karthik went on to add that he is playing Test cricket after a long time and tht he was looking forward to the challenge in playing in alien conditions in England.

“I am excited. It is obviously a big Test series for both the sides, so really looking forward to it. I am sure with two good teams, it will be a great contest. I am playing Test cricket after a long time. It’s a great challenge to come to England and play well. Like any other player, I am as excited as I can be.”
