Dinesh Karthik picks Shahrukh Khan as the youngster he is looking forward to seeing in the IPL 2021

Shahrukh Khan has been bought by Punjab Kings for the IPL 2021. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder became one of the priced scalps during the auction and eventually was bought for INR 5.25 crores. His ball-striking in the domestic cricket ahead of the auction attracted a lot of interest in him and took his bid to such a height. 

He is one of the most talked-about newcomers in the cash-rich league. In fact, his state teammate and Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has expressed his excitement to watch Khan in the IPL. The Kolkata Knight Riders player talked about Shahrukh during a Questio and Answer which he had organized on his official Twitter account. 

A fan asked Dinesh, which young Tamil Nadu cricketer will make a mark in this season of the IPL. While answering this question, the experienced cricketer said that he is looking forward to seeing Shahrukh grow as a cricketer. The all-rounder has played quite a bit of domestic cricket under the captaincy of Karthik.

“I’ll be very excited to see how Shahrukh Khan plays this year, he’s got a good opportunity with @PunjabKingsIPL  and I’m looking forward to see him grow as a cricketer,” Karthik wrote on Twitter. Shahrukh Khan made his domestic cricket debut in 2014 but the 25-year-old has finally got an opportunity to make an appearance in the IPL. 

Shahrukh has played 5 first-class, 25 List A, and 31 T20 matches for Tamil Nadu. He has a strike rate of 131.39 in T20s and was seen playing a key role in his state team when they recently won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy. He was also seen playing a pivotal role in finishing matches with the bat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. 

Speaking of Karthik, the wicketkeeper batsman has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders preparation camp for the IPL 2021. The KKR side has reached Chennai and will be playing their season opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 11. Shahrukh Khan is expected to be seen in action when Punjab Kings open their season against Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai on April 12.
