Discovery Communications bags broadcasting rights for World XI tour to Pakistan

The Discovery Communications have managed to bag the broadcasting rights for the upcoming World XI tour to Pakistan. DSport, the sports channel owned by the media company, will air the three T20s that will be played between the World XI and Pakistan during the tour. The tour will get underway in the second week of September with the first T20 to be played on September 12.

All the three matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium at Lahore. The matches will be day-night fixtures. This particular tour has already seen a lot of curves even before it has actually rolled out. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have a lot of expectations from this particular series.

They have tried very hard to get things sorted for the series. The World XI tour is expected to serve as the gateway for the international cricket to make a comeback to the Pakistani soil. The Pakistani fans have been deprived of international cricket action ever since the infamous terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus back in the year 2009.
