Dog plays cricket with kids; video goes viral on Twitter
The video shows the pet pooch being alert to every delivery as he runs towards the ball as soon as it is delivered.
It will not be an aberration to say that dogs understand human beings more than any other animal. Not only are they the biggest allies of humans in adversity, but they also form an able partnership when it comes to indulging in recreational activities which also includes playing cricket.
Veteran actress Simi Garewal shared a video on her Twitter account that vindicates the aforementioned fact. The 44-second video shows a pet pooch playing cricket with young kids where he can be seen performing the role of the wicketkeeper brilliantly.
The video shows the pet pooch being alert to every delivery as he runs towards the ball as soon as it is delivered. In the first instance, the young girl hits the ball to mid-on, prompting the dog to gallop towards it, just like a normal fielder would.
The dog returns back to his position before the second ball is bowled. On the next delivery, the girl defends the ball and, again, the pet unleashes his Jonty Rhodes moniker to reach the ball in a canter. On the last delivery, the bowler proceeds to unleash a bumper which the girl awkwardly fends, and again the pooch is as alert as Rhodes used to be during his career and fetches the ball from the nearby bushes in a jiffy.
Sharing the video, Simi said, “An award for the best fielder of the year!!”
The video has since then garnered thousands of likes and retweets with fans hailing the pet for his agility in the field, while even compared his alertness with the Indian legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
