'Doing our bit for the society' - Irfan and Yusuf Pathan donate face masks amid Coronavirus' increasing outbreak
Recently, Irfan had also asked the citizens to stop hoarding essential commodities amidst these trying times.
The whole of India is battling hard to stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus, which is commonly known as the novel Coronavirus. The disease was first recorded in China’s Wuhan Province and slowly spread all around the world like wildfire. The country has seen more than 420 positive cases of the virus and eight people have died so far.
After the curfew on March 22 and to curb the further transmission of the virus, the government has put states under lockdown, either partial or complete. The decision to implement it has been left to the state government as India is on the verge of stepping into the third stage of the virus spread– community transmission.
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has been doing his bid to ask his fans and followers to follow the instructions laid down by the government and the Health and Welfare Ministry of India with respect to the spread of Coronavirus. He shared a video along with brother Yusuf Pathan while staying indoors during the curfew.
‘Please go ahead and help each other’: Irfan Pathan
Recently, Irfan had also asked the citizens to stop hoarding essential commodities amidst these trying times. People are buying things like hand sanitizers, handwash, wipes, and tissues in bulk, leaving very little for the citizens who cannot afford to buy in such huge quantities
This is not the first time when Irfan and Yusuf have extended their support towards the society. The duo had sent out several daily need essentials and food packets to the state for the flood victims of Kerala in 2018. Furthermore, they also had helped flood victims in Baroda with relief materials at a time when the whole nation was suffering from the calamity. The Pathan family had also extended their support when floods had struck Uttarakhand and killed hundreds of pilgrims who were on their way to the Kedarnath temple.
“We are ready to support the government in every possible way in such a critical situation. The next few days are going to be critical and we appeal to every citizen of the country to stay indoors and look after his health and take care of everyone around him,” said Irfan and Yusuf to CricTracker.
“One more point which I want to highlight is the situation of individuals who are earning through daily wages. I urge everyone to come in support of such people and provide them with the necessary help. Along with masks and sanitizers, every person should help society with the needful instead of hoarding the items. We request everyone to do whatever they can and help each other in these trying times. Be safe, take care of your family and don’t gather a crowd in public,” added the duo.
Irfan Pathan, on Monday, shared a video of hundreds of masks packed in a box to be donated on his Instagram account with a message that read, “Doing our bit for the society. Whatever u guys can do please go ahead and help each other as far as sanitation is concerned. But don’t gather crowd!@yusuf_pathan #mehmudkhanpathantrust #help #india.” He further asked citizens to whatever they could to help others.
