S Sreesanth, the controversial Indian fast bowler, has heaped praises on MS Dhoni, who’s at the twilight of his career. Ever since the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni hasn’t played a single match and reports of his speculated retirements have been doing the rounds. But the Jharkhand-born hasn’t spoken about his future plans as of yet. His last game was in the semi-final against New Zealand.
In the meantime, Sreesanth compared Dhoni to the iconic character of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie ‘Don’. The speedster took out a popular dialog from the movie, which says that catching Don is impossible. Later, Shah Rukh Khan also went on to star in the sequel around a decade ago.
MS Dhoni is very fit, says Sreesanth
Sreesanth reckons that since cricketers have gone on to play until the age of 40, Dhoni still has quite a bit of time left ahead of him. Moreover, he said that Dhoni has the desired amount of fitness to continue playing at the highest level.
“See… I’m not following it much, but as far as I know, he is very fit, even Sanju Samson. But to me, he is like Don. Inko Pakdna Mushkil Hi Nahi Namumkin Hai. He would love to play for the country, he’s got that in his blood, he is only 38. Sachin (Tendulkar) and other cricketers have played till 40,” Sreesanth stated during an interactive session on Helo App.
Sreesanth spoke about his aggressive attitude on the field as well. “All the inspiration came from WWE, nothing else. Even former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar used to do that,” he added. On quite a few instances, he vented his frustration out after picking up wickets.
As far as Dhoni is concerned, he was set to return in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the tournament had to be postponed for an indefinite time period due to the coronavirus outbreak.
He attended the training camp as well and reportedly scored a century, earning praises from his teammates. It’s also been learned that Dhoni is in contention for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
