'Don’t make it personal' - Ambati Rayudu to Azharuddin after being called 'frustrated cricketer'
Azharuddin called Rayudu 'frustrated cricketer'.
Ambati Rayudu never finds himself far away from controversies it seems. The Hyderabad cricketer became the talk of the town for his ‘3D Glasses’ tweet after he was ignored for the 2019 World Cup Team India squad by the selectors, who preferred all-rounder Vijay Shankar over him, despite Rayudu being the first-choice batsman at no.4 for a year.
He was then snubbed for a second time, after Mayank Agarwal was called as cover for KL Rahul during the tournament, despite Rayudu being the official replacement for the tournament. This led to him calling time on his cricket career, including domestic cricket as well, citing mistreatment from the selection committee. However, that lasted till August, when he announced his return in August and captained Hyderabad in white-ball tournaments- Vijay Hazare Trophy and the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
However, he recently tweeted to Telangana Minister about alleged rampant corruption in the Hyderabad Cricket Association and requested him to intervene to clean it up. He also slammed HCA Chief Mohammad Azharuddin of doing nothing despite being informed about the same. “I feel he should have initiated stronger measures but he did not do that. I feel there were more election promises and as a result, the game suffered. It hurt me a lot,” Rayudu said as quoted by News 18.
Ambati Rayudu asks Azharuddin to not make things personal
When asked to give a quote on Rayudu, Azharuddin just said that he was a frustrated cricketer. This now has not gone down well with the Hyderabad cricketer as he once again took to Twitter and asked the HCA chief and former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin to not make the things personal.
He further claimed that Azhar knew what was going on in the organization and that he had been given a golden opportunity by god to clean up the Association. He also advised HCA head to keep himself away from crooks and that if he does his job correctly and cleans up the HCA, he will be saving generations of Hyderabad cricketers.
“Hi @azharflicks let’s not make it personal.da issue is bigger dan us.we both knw wats goin on in hca.u hav a god given opportunity to clean up hyd cricket.i strongly urge u 2 isolate urself from da seasoned crooks.u wil b savin generations of future cricketers. #cleanuphydcricket,” Rayudu tweeted.
