The 28-year-old leggie from Haryana, Yuzvendra Chahal has been associated with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since the 2013 edition of the IPL, three years prior to his international debut. With one day to go for the start of the 12th edition of the T20 league, Chahal believes that he doesn’t see playing himself for any franchise in the future other than his current team.
Recently, a similar statement had come from the RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who is sure he doesn’t want to play for any other team. He has been a part of RCB since its inception and has been the permanent captain since 2013, the same year as Chahal joined the club. The leg-spinner has thus been an essential and constant wheel for the Kohli-led brigade.
He said that the RCB franchise, will begin their IPL 2019 campaign against the CSK tomorrow, is like a family to him as he is close to all the players in the team. He further asserted that he has enjoyed his time while playing with the likes of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. As the RCB take on the defending champions on March 23, in Chennai, the leg-spinner will complete his six years with the Bangalore team.
I have enjoyed my time here, says Chahal
“This is my sixth year with RCB and I have enjoyed a lot especially on the field and off-field with senior players like Virat Bhaiya (Virat Kohli) and AB sir (AB de Villiers). I am always excited whenever I play for RCB. It is like my family and I don’t see myself playing for any other team,” Chahal was quoted as saying by Times Now.
Chahal further said that he is looking forward to the new season to perform better than ever as he wants to make up for his recent poor form. “Obviously, it is a new season for us and I am very excited about it. We are training in a proper way and I am really excited as some new players are here and the atmosphere is so nice here,” he further added.
