'Don't think he was handled well there' - DC owner Parth Jindal takes dig at KKR after buying Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav was bought by the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crore.
Kuldeep Yadav was roped in by the Delhi Capitals on Day 1 of the ongoing IPL 2022 mega auction for a sum of INR 2 crore. While Yadav had gone into the mega auction with INR 1 crore set as his base price, DC showed faith in him and made an additional investment to bring the left-arm spinner on board. He would now be hoping to make the most of his opportunities in the upcoming season of the marquee tournament and make his way into the Indian team.

After successfully bidding for Yadav, the Delhi Capitals boss Parth Jindal criticised Kolkata Knight Riders for not handling the wrist-spinner well. The Kanpur cricketer was one of the integral members of the two-time champions from 2014 to 2021. His tournament was cut short last season after suffering a knee injury during the second leg in the UAE which forced him to return home. Ahead of 2022 mega auction, KKR decided to release him.
Kuldeep Yadav is a player who rides on confidence: Parth Jindal
“When we looked at the value names, one of the names that stuck with us was Kuldeep Yadav. Yesterday, when Kuldeep played for India against WI, I was holding myself I hope Kuldeep doesn’t do a wonderful job, because then his price will go crazy,” said the Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal on Auction Alert with Boria.
“I don’t think he has been handled well in IPL in last few seasons. He is a player who rides on confidence. In the environment we have created at DC, with Ricky and Rishabh, this is really what we want to give him. He has a lot to prove and the fire in the belly is there. We are very keen to see what he does come March end”, he added.
Kuldeep Yadav would now be bowling in tandem with another Indian left-arm spinner Axar Patel, who was one of the mandatory retentions by Delhi just months ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The duo would be expected to bamboozle the batters after powerplay and during the middle overs.
