The Indian domestic season started off with the Duleep Trophy at the newly built Ekana International cricket Stadium in Lucknow where the India Red and India Green teams faced each other in the opening game. India Red registered a convincing 170-run win as Priyank Panchal, Karn Sharma, and Dinesh Karthik put up remarkable performances in both the innings.

1 – The match figures of 10/133 for Karn Sharma are the best for him in first-class cricket. This is also the first time he bagged 10 wickets in a first-class game. His previous best figures were 9/119 in his last FC match against Baroda.
4 – Ravikumar Samarth has been run out four times in his previous seven first-class innings. He was run out in the 1st innings of this game. Samarth was run out in both the innings of the first unofficial Test in South Africa.
4 – Karn Sharma has picked up 4-wicket hauls in four consecutive first-class innings. Karn took 4/48 and 5/71 respectively for Railways against Baroda in his previous FC game while he returned with figures of 4/39 and 6/94 in this game.
5 – Number of wickets Murali Vijay scalped in this game. He had six wickets in his first-class career before the game. Vijay recorded bowling figures of 3/46 and 2/41 in the match respectively.
11 – Priyank Panchal became only the 11th player to score centuries in both the innings of a Duleep Trophy game. KL Rahul in 2014 was the last player to score hundreds in both innings of a Duleep Trophy game. Dinesh Karthik is the only player to score twin centuries twice in this tournament’s history.
1531 – Karthik’s 1531 runs in the Duleep Trophy are the most for any active player. His 2nd innings century was only the 5th for him in the 34 innings he has played in the tournament.
9068 – Runs Dinesh Karthik has aggregated in first-class cricket so far. He completed 9000 runs in his FC career during the 2nd innings where he scored a century. (233rd FC innings)
