IPL 2018: Dwayne Bravo going gaga over Deepika Padukone
Bravo's admiration for Deepika started in 2006.
Dwayne Bravo has been one of the most prolific performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since the inception of the tournament back in 2008. The veteran has carved a reputation for being one of the most lethal bowlers in the T20 format, especially in the death overs owing to his clever variations of pace. However, he hasn’t had the most successful campaigns in the ongoing edition of the T20 league.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) played against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. Bravo bowled the final over of the Delhi innings and was taken for 26 runs by Harshal Patel. CSK went on to lose by 34 runs and the expensive over turned out to be pivotal in the context of the match. Despite the poor show, Bravo isn’t dispirited and is enjoying his time in the country.
“She’s still in my head”- Bravo for Deepika
Recently, as per reports in Times Now, he was interviewed by Harbhajan Singh, his CSK teammate. During the chat, the Windies cricketer mentioned Deepika Padukone as his favourite heroine when asked about the same. He put forth his wish to have a conversation with her and also reminisced the first time when he went head over heels for the Bollywood actress.
“I want to meet her again, but this time I want to have a chat with her. That will be a dream for me. It was in 2006 when I first visited India with the West Indies during the Champions Trophy. I checked into a hotel and turned on my TV. I saw this ad in which a girl was endorsing this soap.
I realised it was Deepika. From 2006 till now, she’s still in my head. You can’t find another Deepika, there’s only one Deepika,” the owner of 422 wickets in T20s remarked while expressing his admiration for the 32-year old gorgeous heroine.
Bravo commenced the tournament with a match-winning knock of 68 runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He hasn’t contributed much as the event has progressed. The Trinidadian has been erratic with the ball as well and managed nine wickets in 13 matches thus far.
