Dwayne Bravo, the Windies all-rounder, will play for Middlesex in the upcoming edition of the T20 Blast which is the domestic T20 competition in England. He will be available for them only for six games of the tournament as the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will commence later. The schedule of both the tournaments has clashed as Bravo will play for Trinbago Knight Riders. However, his availability depends on him obtaining a visa and completing the necessary NOC paperwork.
He is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kinga (CSK) and has been superb with his skills of bowling at the death. He also won them the tournament opener against Mumbai Indians. The franchise had retained his services by using Right to Match card (RTM) in the auction for a whopping amount of Rs 6.4 Crores. So far he has repaid the faith and would be itching to continue playing the same way for Middlesex as well.
Bravo excited to play under Vettori
Dwayne Bravo was delighted after signing a deal with Middlesex and was excited to work with Daniel Vettori’s squad. “I’ve been fortunate enough throughout my career to have played all around the world and Lord’s in London is a place that really excites me. I have no hesitation committing to Middlesex for 6 games of the Vitality Blast and am looking forward to joining Dan Vettori’s squad at the start of July,” he said.
“Dwayne is one of the most exciting and best T20 players in the world. He can win games of cricket with bat or ball. He may only be available for six games, but I expect him to have an impact in a number of these matches. I’m sure he is a player the huge Lord’s crowds will enjoy watching,” Angus Fraser, the Managing Director of Cricket of Middlesex was quoting as saying by Cricbuzz.
Bravo is a proven performer in T20 circuit with the experience of 385 matches in the format and has amassed 5635 runs and has also scalped a massive 420 wickets.
