ECB reveals new kit of England team in Tests and limited-overs format; to launch officially on June 17

England’s international summer is set to get underway next week with the first of the two-match Test series against New Zealand. The series will commence on June 2 at the historic Lord’s after which India and New Zealand will play in the World Test Championship Final in Southampton. The schedule for England themselves is packed and the team will play its next assignment wearing new jersey.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) revealed the first look of the team’s new kit on its official Twitter handle. Only recently, ECB signed with IG, a global leader in online trading and investments, and the logo of the company will be on the sleeves of the Men’s and Women’s team jerseys across all the formats.

While IG will be appearing on the sleeves of the jersey, Cinch, UK’s fastest-growing online used car marketplace, will be at the centre of the jersey and on the right sleeve as they are the Principal Partner of England Cricket from May 2021. The deal was signed back in February this year only but it came into effect from this month.

New Balance continues to be the official kit supplier of England Cricket and these sponsors dominate the jersey as well. England have retained the blue jersey for the limited-overs format, however, it is still not clear if the Red jersey will be used for the T20 format alone which they had done for the last few years.

Packed schedule for England players

The start of the home season from June 2 marks the beginning of a very busy season for England players. After the two-match Test series against New Zealand, they are expected to gear up for the inaugural edition of The Hundred which is starting from July 21. They will then face India in a five-match Test series from August 4 which will only conclude on September 14.

Even though the IPL 2021 is likely to resume soon after this series in the UAE, ECB Chief Ashley Giles has cleared that England players won’t be released. Having said that, the team is slated to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan in September-October followed by the T20 World Cup in India or the UAE.

Soon after the ICC global event, the team is set to play the Ashes against Australia down under which is considered the greatest ever fight between the two countries.
