'Ek mera dil hai, ek meri jaan hai'- Ranveer Singh on Virat Kohli's heartwarming post for MS Dhoni
Virat Kohli hailed MS Dhoni for leading CSK outstandingly well from the front
MS Dhoni stepped down as Chennai Super Kings’ captain just two days before the commencement of IPL 2022 on March 24. Star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, has been named his successor and he would be expected to take the team to new peaks starting this season.
After Dhoni relinquished his position on March 24, his Team India successor as well as one of his good friends, Virat Kohli, came forward with a heartwarming message for the legendary captain. However, it was Bollywood superstar, Ranveer Singh, who stole the show with an adorable message for two of the biggest cricketers of this generation.
Ranveer Singh has a special message for MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli
Taking to his official Instagram handle, Virat had posted an image of him hugging the veteran stumper, supposedly, before the toss of an IPL game between CSK and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during one of the recent IPL seasons. The batting megastar captioned the image as “Legendary captaincy tenure in yellow skip. A chapter fans will never forget. Respect always”.
The image went viral in no time. Nonetheless, when it came to Ranveer Singh’s notice, the ‘Ram Leela’ actor made it clear how much both the cricketing icons meant to him personally as he wrote “Ek mera dil hai , ek meri jaan hai”.
Meanwhile, this is also the first time that Virat Kohli will not be leading RCB from the front. He had stepped down from the position after the conclusion of the 2021 season, having led the Bengaluru-based franchise for nine editions. Veteran South African batter, Faf du Plessis, has been named the new captain.
CSK will be heading into this year’s cash-rich event as the defending champions, and would be eyeing a record-equaling fifth IPL crown. They will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the curtain-raiser at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 26. At the same time, it will also be interesting to see how MS Dhoni would be helping out the new captain, Ravindra Jadeja, on the field in IPL 2022.
