Elite players like Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly have been wonderful ambassadors of the game. But Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster is a cut above the rest and is unquestionably the best and the peerless production of India. With a technique very close to perfection and with unparalleled temperament, Tendulkar had to carry the hopes and expectations of a billion plus people in virtually every international game that he played. <p>The Don is regarded by many pundits as the single greatest player ever to play the sport of cricket. Averaging an eye-popping 99.94 with the bat, the Don has managed to entrance spectators and captivate their hearts while on the pitch and also even years after his retirement and death. <p>Undoubtedly the greatest cricketing servant of Pakistan, Imran Khan is one of the most iconic all rounders that the game of cricket has seen. It is not any exaggeration to say that he was the one who popularized cricket in the continent of Asia. The well built, handsome looking and supremely talented Imran Khan won many hearts when his team lifted the 1992 world cup. He was also known for his dynamic captaincy and led Pakistan to their first series win in England in 1987 taking an astounding 10 for 77. Not many in world cricket can emulate Imran Khan&#8217;s prowess both with the bat and ball as consistently and as domineering as him. The legendary player in many ways is a gift to world cricket. <p>One of the most successful captains of all time and the most versatile player from New Zealand, Stephen Fleming will unquestionably go down in history as one of the most hard working players. With his steely resolve and zeal he has led New Zealand cricket to great heights. With the bat too he is one of New Zealand&#8217;s most dependable players with a conventional styled batting technique and with a temperament that many would envy. He has played over 111 tests and averages 40 with the bat. That speaks volumes of how inestimable he has been for his side with his flair with the bat.<br>

<p>Has the record for the fastest hundred in ODIs, averages over 50 in both the formats, AB de Villiers is arguably South Africa&#8217;s greatest ever cricketer. While many in the modern era dread the prospect of facing Dale Steyn, ABD famous reverse swept him for a six in an IPL game that still stays afresh in the hearts of devout Abd fans. He is an inimitable blend who can play top notch cricket in all three forms of the game. The South African Captain despite his prowess and credentials hasn&#8217;t won an ICC tournament yet. That is something the South African legend will be eyeing in the future. Nicknamed Mr.360, ABD is well renowned for his unorthodox, outrageous shots emanating from his willow.<br>

<p>Averaging nearly 40 with the bat in tests and with nearly 350 international wickets, Shakib is indubitably one of the better all-rounders in the modern game. And what&#8217;s more a solid proof than the rankings per se to support the claim. Shakib created history by topping the ranking charts as the no.1 all rounder in all three forms of the game. A clever left-arm spinner and a reliable player with the bat, Shakib is without a doubt Bangladesh&#8217;s best ever cricket production. He also became the first batsman from Bangladesh to score five hundreds, despite mostly batting at No.5. The Bangladeshi legend sure is a huge source of inspiration for thousands of Bangladeshi fans all over the world.<br>

<p>One of the most prolific run scorers and arguably the top batsman of his generation Graham Gooch has 67,057 runs across first class game and limited overs game. Gooch is the second highest Test run scorer for England. He played in the era of the West Indian domination in cricket but notwithstanding that he has a commendable batting average of over 40 against the West Indies. After 118 Tests, aged forty-two, he retired into coaching and as team selector, before becoming a commentator. In 2009 he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He has the distinction of having scored the most number of runs at the Mecca of cricket, Lord&#8217;s.<br>

<p>Earlier when batting was done with more of a conservative approach, Sir Viv was the one who broke the shackles and unleashed a relatively new aggressive brand of cricket. A destructive batting with monstrous talent, Sir Viv Richards when in his groove can be a nightmare for even the best of bowlers. He hit 84 sixes in test cricket, a rather prodigious stat, that bears witness to his unprecedented aggressive brand of cricket. Richards was judged by Wisden Cricketers&#8217; Almanack to have played the best ODI innings of all time. Despite being a limited overs specialist Richards averages over 50 in tests as well.<br>

<h4><strong>9. Sri Lanka &#8211; Kumar Sangakkara:</strong></h4>

<p>One of the most technically sound and classy players from Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara has been an honorable ambassador of the gentleman’s game for a long time. He is the top run scorer for Sri Lanka in internationals followed by Jayawardene. Sanga has a huge fan following in his country owing to his sincere and laudable service. He has 63 centuries in his international career.</p>
<p>Sangakkara is hailed for his unmatched cricketing brain and his sheer presence on the pitch with the bat can unnerve any bowler. His tendency to occupy the crease for longer periods in test cricket is good enough to frustrate a lot of bowlers.<br>
