The IPL is a global platform which has presented many youngsters across the globe with a great opportunity to make a name for themselves. Alike all the previous nine editions, this edition of Indian cricket extravaganza has witnessed some scintillating performances from the future stars. Already there has been some breathtaking cricket and nail biting finishes. Most of the games have been thrillers which went till the last ball if not the last over.

All the teams this season possess the unique blend of experience and youth. The beauty of IPL is it presents a chance for young domestic and overseas players to rub the shoulders with the best in the business. These players come out as more matured ones after IPL which eventually benefits their respective national sides.

Also, there has been a trend that if a player does exceptionally well in IPL, then soon he gets picked to play at the highest level. Hardik Pandya is the best example who was one of the emerging players last season and he has already played a handful of ODIs and T20s and was also a vital part of India’s campaign in World T20 last year.

Manan Vohra is only 23 and has been the part of Kings XI set up for last five years. He made his debut in IPL five years ago in 2013 and the franchise has retained him twice ahead of the more fancied players. The Chandigarh-born batsman plays for Punjab in Ranji trophy and has impressed many with his technique and patience.

This IPL season he has been in fantastic form and played a whirlwind innings of 95 from only 50 balls against Sunrisers chasing 160. Opening the innings for Kings XI, the right-hander has scored 174 in five innings at an amazing strike rate of 165. He has also hit 8 sixes which shows he possesses big hitting skills as well. Kings XI will need Vohra performing at the top of the order if they need to dig deep in the tournament this year.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Daredevils) (C)

The 19-year-old Rishabh is making his name in IPL this season. He made his first-class debut in 2015 and was eventually picked in India Under19 squad for World Cup. He displayed his hitting prowess though during the 2016-17 season when he hit a triple hundred against Maharashtra and a blistering 48 ball century against Jharkhand.

This year the wicket keeper batsman hasn’t missed any chance to impress and has collected his runs at a strike rate of 170. He also played a wonderful innings of 57 against RCB while chasing 157 but to no avail. Pant though will look to seize more opportunities and contribute more to the team in the upcoming matches.

Nitish Rana is another young sensation who has made headlines already with the tournament just completing its two weeks. He is naturally aggressive batsman wand plays for Delhi in the domestic cricket. He displayed his superlative skills during Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in the 2015-16 season when he scored 299 runs and hit 21 towering sixes, the most by any batsman in the tournament which prompted Mumbai Indians to pick him last year.

The 23-year-old youngster has been the surprise package this year for all the teams at number 3 where he comes and just hammers the ball. He has played vital roles in all the wins for Mumbai this season batting at the top of the order. Sanju Samson has been under the shining lights for long now and undoubtedly he looks set to be the future of Indian cricket team. Having debuted at an early age of 16 in the domestic arena, Sanju has already played enough in IPL to have the experience of the highest level. Playing for Rajasthan under the leadership of Rahul Dravid he has learnt a lot which he himself emphasises time and again.

Sanju Samson struck a sublime century against Rising Pune Supergiant earlier this season and announced himself in style. This prompted Delhi to open with him in next few matches and maximise his extraordinary hitting in the shortest format. He has also played number ODIs and T20Is for his country at an early age of 23. His ability to bowl part-time off-breaks is an added advantage to his attacking style of batting.

Travis is with the Bangalore team from last season and has tried to justify his place whenever he has got the opportunities. He led India U-19 team to the finals of the U-19 World Cup held in Bangladesh last year. Many former cricketers were pleased the way he captained his side in the mega event. His big hitting skills came into the spotlight when he struck a 69 ball 87 with eight humongous sixes in a Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra on a tough pitch.

Being the first ever associate player to play in the IPL along with his teammate Nabi, Rashid has been the pick of the bowlers so far in the IPL. He has already scalped 9 wickets in 5 matches. He is regular in the Afghanistan cricket team and flummoxes most of the batsmen with his deadly accurate bowling.

The left-arm chinaman, Kuldeep is an upcoming youngster who is playing for KKR this season. The 22-year-old lad from Uttar Pradesh started as a fast bowler and then switched to spin bowling following the advice of his coach. There haven’t been too many bowlers of his ilk in India and so he attracted the immediate attention of the selectors after successful stints in U-19 and domestic cricket. He was eventually selected in the squad for the Test series against Australia. He did not miss out on the opportunity though and picked 4 wickets on his debut in Test in Dharamsala.

This season playing for KKR, he has been the mystery bowler for them along with Sunil Narine. He has picked four wickets in as many matches but his economy is only around 7 which is heartening in T20. Kuldeep like bowlers are very rare in International cricket and BCCI needs to look after him well if they want him to play for India for a long time.

Tymal Mills, left arm fast bowler from England is one of the great finds in cricket, unfortunately only for the shortest formats. In 2015, when his career was about to take off, he was diagnosed with a congenital back condition and there was a possibility that he could never play cricket again. But after all the treatments and surgeries it was concluded that he cannot bowl fast for too long which restricted his career to only T20s. This made him the attractive pick in the auction this year. Franchises, knowing his abilities with the ball, went for him aggressively and finally, Royal Challengers picked him for a whopping INR 12 crore.

Mills has been playing leagues around the world and he has performed well. In IPL too, so far he has bowled decently and showed his prowess in bowling. He has conceded runs at an economy of around 8 and has picked three wickets. Royal Challengers will need his services if they are dreaming of qualifying for playoffs this year.

Basil Thampi, the young fast bowler from Kerala is definitely one of the emerging players so far. He was one of the surprise picks at the auction when Gujarat Lions drafted him into their squad at the expense of INR 85 lakhs. Thampi is the fast bowler who regularly clicks over 140-145kph and has the ability to bowl yorkers consistently.

This season Gujarat Lion unleashed him after a couple of matches and he has not disappointed. He has bowled superbly with pace and hostility and has troubled renowned big hitters like Pollard, Gayle, Kohli with his yorkers. Tymal Mills, left arm fast bowler from England is one of the great finds in cricket, unfortunately only for the shortest formats. In 2015, when his career was about to take off, he was diagnosed with a congenital back condition and there was a possibility that he could never play cricket again. But after all the treatments and surgeries it was concluded that he cannot bowl fast for too long which restricted his career to only T20s. This made him the attractive pick in the auction this year. Franchises, knowing his abilities with the ball, went for him aggressively and finally, Royal Challengers picked him for a whopping INR 12 crore.
Mills has been playing leagues around the world and he has performed well. In IPL too, so far he has bowled decently and showed his prowess in bowling. He has conceded runs at an economy of around 8 and has picked three wickets. Royal Challengers will need his services if they are dreaming of qualifying for playoffs this year.

He was one of the surprise picks at the auction when Gujarat Lions drafted him into their squad at the expense of INR 85 lakhs. Thampi is the fast bowler who regularly clicks over 140-145kph and has the ability to bowl yorkers consistently.
This season Gujarat Lion unleashed him after a couple of matches and he has not disappointed. He has bowled superbly with pace and hostility and has troubled renowned big hitters like Pollard, Gayle, Kohli with his yorkers. Billy Stanlake, the tall fast bowler from Australia makes this unique list with a crucial spell against Delhi Daredevils. The Queenslander bowls with great pace and has wonderful variations to beat the batsmen.
This season he has played only a couple of games, one against Kings XI and other against Delhi. The game against Delhi was a good one for him where he picked 2 crucial wickets for only 29 runs. Though his call-up to the 
side was a surprising one, the 22-year-old bowler looks a great prospect for Australia.

The IPL is a global platform which has presented many youngsters across the globe with a great opportunity to make a name for themselves. Alike all the previous nine editions, this edition of Indian cricket extravaganza has witnessed some scintillating performances from the future stars. Already there has been some breathtaking cricket and nail biting finishes. Most of the games have been thrillers which went till the last ball if not the last over.
All the teams this season possess the unique blend of experience and youth. The beauty of IPL is it presents a chance for young domestic and overseas players to rub the shoulders with the best in the business. These players come out as more matured ones after IPL which eventually benefits their respective national sides.
Also, there has been a trend that if a player does exceptionally well in IPL, then soon he gets picked to play at the highest level. Hardik Pandya is the best example who was one of the emerging players last season and he has already played a handful of ODIs and T20s and was also a vital part of India’s campaign in World T20 last year.
This year too is no different as so many young cricketers have impressed and are looking to make an impact in the tournament.

Manan Vohra is only 23 and has been the part of Kings XI set up for last five years. He made his debut in IPL five years ago in 2013 and the franchise has retained him twice ahead of the more fancied players. The Chandigarh-born batsman plays for Punjab in Ranji trophy and has impressed many with his technique and patience.
This IPL season he has been in fantastic form and played a whirlwind innings of 95 from only 50 balls against Sunrisers chasing 160. Opening the innings for Kings XI, the right-hander has scored 174 in five innings at an amazing strike rate of 165. He has also hit 8 sixes which shows he possesses big hitting skills as well. Kings XI will need Vohra performing at the top of the order if they need to dig deep in the tournament this year.
Rishabh Pant (Delhi Daredevils) (C)

The 19-year-old Rishabh is making his name in IPL this season. He made his first-class debut in 2015 and was eventually picked in India Under19 squad for World Cup. He displayed his hitting prowess though during the 2016-17 season when he hit a triple hundred against Maharashtra and a blistering 48 ball century against Jharkhand.
This year the wicket keeper batsman hasn’t missed any chance to impress and has collected his runs at a strike rate of 170. He also played a wonderful innings of 57 against RCB while chasing 157 but to no avail. Pant though will look to seize more opportunities and contribute more to the team in the upcoming matches.
Nitish Rana (Mumbai Indians)

Nitish Rana is another young sensation who has made headlines already with the tournament just completing its two weeks. He is naturally aggressive batsman wand plays for Delhi in the domestic cricket. He displayed his superlative skills during Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in the 2015-16 season when he scored 299 runs and hit 21 towering sixes, the most by any batsman in the tournament which prompted Mumbai Indians to pick him last year.
The 23-year-old youngster has been the surprise package this year for all the teams at number 3 where he comes and just hammers the ball. He has played vital roles in all the wins for Mumbai this season batting at the top of the order. He is the contender of orange cap already after scoring 193 runs in 5 innings in which he has hit 14 fours and 9 sixes. Mumbai can dream of winning the title on the back of this youngster this season if he continues to play in the same manner.
Sanju Samson (Delhi Daredevils)

Sanju Samson has been under the shining lights for long now and undoubtedly he looks set to be the future of Indian cricket team. Having debuted at an early age of 16 in the domestic arena, Sanju has already played enough in IPL to have the experience of the highest level. Playing for Rajasthan under the leadership of Rahul Dravid he has learnt a lot which he himself emphasises time and again.
Sanju Samson struck a sublime century against Rising Pune Supergiant earlier this season and announced himself in style. This prompted Delhi to open with him in next few matches and maximise his extraordinary hitting in the shortest format. Sanju has been the key player for Delhi for the last couple of seasons and this year it is no different. The days are not too far when he would be a regular member of the national side across formats.
Travis Head (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

IPL, over the years, has witnessed a number of Australians and Travis Head is just one of those many. The South Australian-born batsman has been hailed by the greats in Australian cricket. He has also played number ODIs and T20Is for his country at an early age of 23. His ability to bowl part-time off-breaks is an added advantage to his attacking style of batting.
Travis is with the Bangalore team from last season and has tried to justify his place whenever he has got the opportunities. Though, the experience of sharing the dressing room with the likes of Kohli, De Villiers, Gayle, Watson and much more will hold him in good stead as a player post IPL. This season he is yet to make an impact, though he scored an important 30 of just 16 balls against Gujarat Lions today which RCB post a whopping 213 on the board. This player from down under is a real find for Aussies and he looks set to rule the modern cricket in the near future.

Ishan Kishan, the left-handed opening batsman from Jharkhand, the state MS Dhoni hails from, is another player emerging in this year&#8217;s Indian Premier League. He led India U-19 team to the finals of the U-19 World Cup held in Bangladesh last year. Many former cricketers were pleased the way he captained his side in the mega event. His big hitting skills came into the spotlight when he struck a 69 ball 87 with eight humongous sixes in a Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra on a tough pitch.
Gujrat Lions picked him in 2016 auctions keeping in mind his abilities for INR 35 lakhs. He had been blowing hot and cold this season but he smashed 39 in only 16 deliveries to give his side hopes of victory chasing a huge total of 214 against RCB today. Ishan Kishan looks a real good prospect for the future.
Rashid Khan (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

The Afghan sensation Rashid Khan is enjoying this cricketing season the most. Being the first ever associate player to play in the IPL along with his teammate Nabi, Rashid has been the pick of the bowlers so far in the IPL. He has already scalped 9 wickets in 5 matches. He is regular in the Afghanistan cricket team and flummoxes most of the batsmen with his deadly accurate bowling.
Bowling at the highest level for the first time, Rashid has shown immaculate skills so far to hold his nerves and deliver for his side under pressure. Warner, the Sunrisers captain, also heaped praises on him after almost every game as he has been picking wickets consistently and is also economical. Rashid’s bowling charisma has turned him into a crowd favourite and with so many matches to go in the tournament he is the top contender to win the purple cap.
