ENG vs IND: Bhuvneshwar Kumar stuns Jos Buttler twice in a row
Bhuvneshwar cleaned up Buttler in the first T20I as well.
Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is in excellent touch in the ongoing T20I series against England. The right-arm pacer was adjudged, player of the match for his top-notch bowling effort during the second T20I against the home team at the Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The Men in Blue are getting perfect starts with the ball in the current series and all the credit should be given to Bhuvneshwar who has been too good for England’s top-order. During the second T20I, the veteran pacer removed both English openers Jason Roy and skipper Jos Buttler. To note, Kumar has been creating problems for the England skipper as he has got the better of him in both T20I encounters.
Buttler scored just four runs before being scalped by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the second T20I
Talking about Buttler’s dismissal, the right-handed batter was playing on four when he faced the third ball of the third over from Kumar. The senior pacer bowled a length delivery in and around the off-stump as Buttler tried to play a drive, but could only manage a faint edge which was safely pouched by Rishabh Pant behind the wickets. However, the umpire did not give the decision in India’s favor. Confident visitors then opted for a review and a faint spike was detected by the third-umpire, hence the decision was overturned.
As mentioned above, Bhuvneshwar also scalped Buttler during the first T20I match as he went through the batter’s defense and rattled the stumps of the English skipper. The right-arm pacer will like to continue his good form with the ball and try to replicate his antics during the 2022 T20 World Cup slated to start in October this year.
Speaking after the match Kumar said, “Honestly, I do not know. I have been to England many times and it did not swing in the past few series so yes, even I was a bit surprised that the ball was swinging and it is swinging for a long period, especially in T20 cricket and there is a bit more bounce in the wicket as well.”
“When the ball swings, you enjoy it more. Honestly, I do not know whether I am swinging it, it is the condition or it is the ball. If the ball is swinging, that is my strength so I look for attacking options then. In both these matches, the ball swung and I attacked and hence I got the wickets,” Bhuvneshwar added.
