England’s Barmy Army and Indian stalwart Virat Kohli share a love-hate relationship. A similar scene occurred between the two as the right-handed batter received a send-off from the English fans after being scalped by skipper Ben Stokes during the Day 3 of the rescheduled Test match between England and India.
As he was batting on 20, Stokes bowled an excellent delivery that took the edge of Kohli’s bat. Wicketkeeper Sam Billings went for the catch, but the ball popped out of his gloves. However, an alert Joe Root stationed at the first slip caught the ball and ended Kohli’s innings. As Kohli was walking back to the pavilion, Barmy Army was spotted chanting ‘Cheerio’ from the stands.

While batting, none of the English players went on to score big runs except Jonny Bairstow who stroked an excellent hundred for his side as the Three Lions went on to score 284 runs in their first innings.
