Indian team is all set for the much-awaited England tour which will have three-match T20I series, three-match ODI series and a five-match Test series. With the likes of Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Jonny Bairstow in brilliant form, English side looks to be favourites but it will be a treat to watch when those batsmen take on the wrist-spin duo of India.
Ahead of England tour, Indian team played against Ireland in a two-match T20I series in Ireland and clean swept the green team. The hosts weren’t a competition for the immovable Indian team as the visitors went on to win both the games by huge margins. While the first game gave India a 76-run win, the second game was a pure domination with a 143-run victory.
After the completion of the T20I series against Ireland, the International governing body, ICC updated the T20I team rankings on its website. Pakistan is a clear unstoppable side as they take the top spot on the rankings chart. With impressive performances, Indian team moved a spot up to clinch the second rank with Australia at No. 3 position.
What lies ahead of the Indian T20I side?
With Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar ruled out of T20I series, it will be a tough series for the Indian team to go ahead and challenge the in-form England team in the three-match T20I series. BCCI selection committee announced Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya as their replacements for the T20I series.
Deepak Chahar was the game changer in the powerplay overs for the Chennai Super Kings side, that won the title in the IPL 2018. He can add a few runs with the willow too, an additional option for the Indian team. Krunal Pandya was impressive with his all-round efforts in the recently concluded cash-rich league. His addition is a huge boost to the T20I side. It will be a treat to watch these two players performances in the Indian colours if they get a chance.
